Ms. Karina Palestina

Hello, I’m Ms. Palestina. I was born in Mexico City, raised in Tijuana Baja California for 5 years, and then at age 13 got here to Utah. I am the second of 3 kids. I’m the middle and favorite 😊 I graduated from the University of Utah (first-generation college student) with a Bachelor of Science in Family Consumer Studies with Early Childhood Emphasis in 2011. Recently finished my position as School Readiness Coordinator at Holy Cross Ministries for almost 2 years. A few months after graduating I joined Holy Cross Ministries in 2012 as the School Readiness Teacher and served there for 4 years. I was a member of the HCM Mission Committee. In my 5th year I was coordinating the After School Program in 3 of the Elementary Schools in Park City and later in 2018 oversaw 1 summer program in collaboration with Park City School District personnel. After 6 years, I left Holy Cross and worked for Utah Community Action-Head Start. I once again taught for 2 school years being a lead teacher and Family Advocate half of my time. In 2019 I took on more leadership by becoming a Program Specialist (Supervisor) overseeing 15 teachers, assistants, and subs at once in more than 6 classrooms all over the Salt Lake Valley. I served as a PS for 3 school years. I am a CLASS reliable observer. I have a CPR certification, food handlers, and many other workshops that enhance my teaching experience. I enjoy nature walks, decorating, music, spending time with my daughter, and volunteering.
